REMAINS
Some images of the war struck so much that they cannot be forgotten, removed, or erased. We were struck by them, as by war, unexpectedly and irreparably. Hundreds of photos and videos that are impossible to look at and also impossible not to look at, hundreds of images that will stay with you forever. (Realizing that you were very lucky to only see it as photos and videos).
The horror of seeing a dismembered body, not recognizing it, not distinguishing it from the landscape.
This moment, when the body torn into fragments ceases to be a body for the viewer, and becomes simply an unrecognizable object, a part of the environment - in a strange way it is combined with the moment when, in any form in the environment, you suddenly see the distorted remains of the body.
An image that haunts you everywhere. Always flickers at the edge of sight. A vengeful specter of violence. Even when we were in the extremely peaceful landscapes of the residence in the Carpathians, these images haunted our eyes, our heads, and thoughts. These images were seen in every unusual bend of a root, branch, silhouette of stones.
Cold, deaf horror at the bottom of consciousness.
Remains of images clinging to sharp corners in the head.
