У нашому будинку надзвичайно багато комах. На кухні мурашиний виліт, за обіднім столом щипавки, в кімнатах нічні метелики, оси, жуки, без ліку їх. Завжди десь поряд.
Мені подумалось – це ж насправді їх територія, ми тут тільки гості. Це вони – ті, хто були до, і будуть після, і нині заповнюють будь-яке місце, звільнене нами.
Таке місце, як, наприклад, пусті кімнати нежилої хати.
Це не те щоб святилище, і не те щоб кімната із сімейними фото, це – знаки присутності. Знаки присутності господарів, які щойно відійшли – та скоро будуть.

There are a lot of insects in our house. In the kitchen there are ants, at the dining table there are earwigs, in the rooms there are moths, wasps, beetles, and lots of them. Always somewhere nearby.
I thought that this is actually their territory, we are just guests here. They are the ones who were before, and will be after, and are now filling any vacancy we have left.
Such places as, for example, empty rooms of a non-residential house.
It's not a sanctuary, and it's not a room with family photos, it's more a sign of presence. Signs of the presence of the hosts who have just left - and will soon be back.
